Raindrops Falling on my Petals

Nurture Yourself by Dancing in the Rain
It rains everyday in Florida during the summer. There’s a pattern to our summer rainfall.
Mornings are sunny, afternoons are cloudy until about 2 p.m.; then,we get a downpour of rain followed by sunny skies once again. Of course, this pattern changes when there’s a hurricane or tropical storm brewing in the gulf which is part of the weather summer pattern. So far, this year we’ve been fortunate. There haven’t been any.
What we do have is rain … and more rain … and more rain. My feet have almost changed into flippers.
I’m not a fan of rain. It brings my spirits down. Cloudy, gloomy days drain my energy and enthusiasm. I need to see bright shiny sunny days. I want to see sparkles on the water behind my home. I want to hear the birds singing.
Don’t get me wrong. I know that flowers and trees need rain. My orchids tell me that.
My grass is very, very green too. I know there are dry arid places with shortages of water that would cherish this rain.
In fact, I enjoy the rain. I know that’s a contradiction. But, I can take a nap (yes … nap) and listen to the rain falling as it taps rhythmically on my windows. However, it’s been a long, long time since I’ve seen the sun. Too many days for me to count.
I’m sure you’re wondering – What does rain have to do with nurturing?
I’m glad you asked.
Today, while I was sitting on my patio, I began to look at rain differently. The heavy showers reminded me of the challenge that rain is for me. Then, I began to see it in a different light.
Rain is like the things that happen to us in life. Everyday we’re faced with challenges. For everyone the challenges are different. If we look at every drop of rain as a challenge we’ve overcome our outlook would be much more positive.
Our lives are sprinkled with droplets of problems and stresses we have to rise above.
Life pours worries, obstacles, misfortunes, stumbling blocks and, at times, nightmares filled with thunderous lightning of difficulties into our lives. Stress builds like puddles in a gully.
How would we gauge our troubles and woes if we never had grey rainy days?
We can very easily get upset about these issues that life has decided to pour on us. But without these storms, how would we appreciate the rainbow that appears after downpours of rain?
Instead, I’ve decided to appreciate every drop of rain because without it I wouldn’t be able to appreciate that I’m alive and able to enjoy it. I’ve decided to look at rain in less of a monotonous humdrum way. I recognize without the changes rain gives us life might be very dull. I decided to be grateful for the rain as it’s creating beautiful colors in my garden by nurturing my grass, trees and orchids.
I think I’ll go out and find a rainbow while I dance in the rain ….
How about you?

Rain does have a healing feel to it. The rain upon my skin feels like it’s cleansing.
I find it’s all in the prospective of how we look at things. Thaks for stopping by and
visiting. Your comment has a soothing view. ~~~~~ : – )

Isadora I have comforting memories as child tucked up in my bed and listening to the rain drop on a corrugated roof. I will treasure it forever.

I remember listening to rain on a tin roof and it had an odd comforting feeling, too. I suppose it’s all about prospective.
Thanks for coming by for a visit and leaving a comment.😊

Love your dance party! Very nurturing, fun and liberating. One of my bucket list next week as I travel to the tropics, to dance in the rain just like when I was a kid. I hope to have my son dance too for the first time. To enjoy simply joys of life & nature.

There are times I revel in the rain and there are times I am not as happy about it …. yet, I always find something good about the rain — whether dancing in it, knowing nature is soaking it up, or just enjoying by staying home and reading a good book. It is good to have rain. 😀

I have learned to look at rain in that way now, Becca. It’s a blessing to see the orchid, I treasure, soaking up the nutritional droplets. It’s all about prospective. 😳

Yes, I think rain is now your friend after your lightening experiences. Are you aware that recently here in Florida there have been a great many deaths from lightening?
A woman was hit with it in her living room. Now … that’s an experience she’ll never forget. ( BTW … her mother was giving her a foot massage. I cpu;dn’t make that stuff up. HILARIOUS !!!! )
Seriously, you are blessed to be here today. I’m glad about that. ❤
The image is altered with alot of photo shop editing. Photography sure has changed. : O

I didn’t realize it rained a lot in Portland. I know Seattle has it’s fair share of it.
I do hope everything goes well for you. I find moving;especially, to another state disorienting. But, I’m not adventurous. I believe I’m part cat … I find change difficult.
You’ll be in my heart thoughts for a smooth transition. ❤

Yes, I believe they would treasure a little rain in California. The dry foliage is causing many major fires. I wish I could send them some. 😊
Weather is just something we need to complain about once in a while. The fact is Mother Nature will do what she thinks is best.
Thanks, Monique, for your insightful comment and visit. 😘

Perspective. That’s all it is. Here in Southeern Nevada- and in California- there is a drought going on. It’s been about 4 years here. The lake is down and water restrictions are in effect. My wife and I get excited lately even when it only sprinkles! One night we were awakened to the sound of a real downpour. We ran out into the back yard, doffed our clothes, and danced like idiots! Naked in the rain! Something I will never forget!

Yes, I agree with you it’s all a matter of perspective. There are a great many places where water is a major necessity. I wish I could send some of these downpours their way. 😊
WOW … that’s a great memory and exhibits GREAT freedom. I live in an area that’s isolated I may grab hubby and do a naked rain dance too. I’ve been in my pool when it’s rained and that felt wonderful but runny about could be a fabulous new adventure.
Glad you shared your fun with me here in my comment box, Emilio. 😃
Have a super week ….
