Aunt Molly was never included in family gatherings.
She’s strange, everyone said.
Yet, here I am standing among her clutter and dust.
Why did she name me her heir?
I barely knew her.
Was there a message among these relics of antiquity?
She made potions, everyone said.
What kind of potions?
Was she a witch or chemist?
She mixed elixir concoctions to heal the believers.
The estate appraiser will be here soon. Perhaps, he can give me some insight.

Did you just say $50,000 dollars for that purple bottle?
Yes, Ma’am. It’s a collectable.
Dear Auntie Molly …. I love you.

Hola Isadora,
$50,000? There’s an elixir anyone would enjoy. As I enjoyed your story. Well done.

Hola Rochelle,
BIG BUCKS …!!!! Who can tell what valuable treasure is going to be left to you in an estate.
It hasn’t happened to me yet. 😂 I can dream in my story. LOL
I’m happy you enjoyed this story. The photo prompt was a little difficult
for me this week. I’m not a fan of this one I’ve written as much as some of my other entries.
But, it’s great writing practice. Thank you for hosting and always stopping by to leave your
very nice comments.
Adios,
Isadora 😎

I’d like to think Molly was rewarding the only family member who showed her some respect.
Good piece.

Eccentric relatives are often left isolated because people lack the interest to understand them.
I hope Aunt Molly saw kindness in her niece. I’m pleased you enjoyed my story. Thank you for
stopping by and leaving your very comment, Mick. _______ Isadora 😎

It’s a much more interesting way of living when you’re eccentric.
Aunt Molly was certainly that. Thank you for visiting. _______ Isadora 😎

Aunt Molly must have known her message would be received. Goodness and kindness will
shine through to others even when distance prevents paths from crossing.
I’m happy you thought it was beautiful. I found this photo prompt very challenging this week.
I appreciate your kind comment and visit. Thank You …!!! _____ Isadora 😎

How could she not love Aunt Molly. She left her a houseful of treasures. With no attachment to the items, I’m sure the estate appraiser will find many antique shops to consign or sell them to.
Inheritances can be a blessing and a nightmare. In this case it looks like it was a blessing. Thanks for commenting. Your visits always bring a smile. ______ Isadora 😎

Wonderful! Those bottles held more treasures than she thought! Or maybe than the auctioneer thought… 😉

Hola Amiga,
This prompt wasn’t my favorite. I struggled a little with my approach. I hoped the message was clear
in those short 100 words. I had a lot of ideas but went with this one.
Eccentric old aunts who live alone and gather stuff through whatever idiosyncratic behavior they have
can, at times, leave treasures one never knew they had or were valuable. But … estate appraisers can be wrong. The truth is in the eventual sale.
(Must be read with a southern accent – gosh … you have a tremendous influence on me … LOL)
I’m always happy to see ya’ll here, Ms. Lorna. Hope ya’ll are feelin’ well. Ya’ll take good care.
Adios y garcias,
Issy 😎

This just doesn’t ring true! The estate agent would have pocketed the bottle.

Well … that would be unethical for the estate appraiser to do. 😳
I’ve had family estates appraised and, usually, you stay with them as they wander around the home.
Some items have to be researched for value. They take photos and get back to you.
But, I suppose there’s always one bad apple in any field. Sad, though.
Thanks for the comment that left an open dialog for us to enjoy. _______ Isadora 😎

Good old Aunt Molly. The ‘strange’ usually have a story to tell.

It’s so true. People who live an eccentric life or in isolation have a lot to tell but no one is willing to listen.
I’ve heard many stories of valuable items left behind by these types of strange relatives.
Thank you for visiting, Sandra. You’re always a pleasure to see. ________ Isadora 😎

One never knows what is a collectable or just a decorative piece we happen to enjoy having.
I am of the no-clutter school so I have very little around that needs dusting. Now, go and check
those special items you have that may be collectable. 😄

That’s funny you say that. I have just researching a print I found for $15 in a second hand shop. It turns out to be by a UK artist of some renown. I don’t think its worth much more that $50 but it’s a nice score. I’ll keep looking for that purple bottle 🙂

I enjoy browsing flea markets and estate sales for finds such as you’ve mentioned. There’s a thrill in finding something more valuable than what you’ve paid. I often gift them and find the receivers always enjoy the story of how they were found. One persons rubbish is another persons treasure. Happy Hunting …!!! 😎
