In May, my hubby and I celebrated our 50th Anniversary. Our actual anniversary date is August 21st. We celebrated early because of the ports we were interested in seeing. The Panama Canal was one of the many ports. I’ve been trying to get posts written on each one of the ports but it’s happening very slowly.
As it turned out, when I arrived home my back pain, that I had had before I left for our trip, became much more unbearable. I was bedridden. Despite my being a high risk patient, reluctantly, I decided to have the back surgery.
I’ve been progressing slowly since the surgery. I’m far from healed. But, with patience, I can see the light at at end of the road.
While on our cruise, we renewed our vows.
These were the words I spoke.
Enjoy …
Isadora
Take my hand and walk with me
in quiet places;
where butterfly wings create a melodic song.
Sing and play in secret meadows;
where grasses sway
with soft summer breezes
from dusk to dawn.
Share with me a simple life
of placid days and starry nights;
where we can lie on yielding grasses,
while waiting for the morning light.
Take my hand and dance with me,
until stars twinkle brightly in your eyes.
For simple pleasures love can hold;
even when winter’s edge grows bold.

Thank you, PJ, for bringing your well-wishes for my surgical healing. Yes, I’m doing better. I never realized how
sensitive the spine can be when it comes to healing. The slightest turn and there goes your progress. But, I’m presevering. ❤️
Fifty years make me feel like a dinosaur. There are fewer and fewer marriages. I can honestly say that I have a great many fond memories
but would be remiss if I said that all of the days were without stress or friction. We’re both human with our moments to shine in the relatioship.
We, somehow, have managed to allow that to happen. Thank you for the Congrats ..!!!

And that is what has made your marriage stronger – persevering during the tough times and rejoicing in the good times.

Thank you, Gilly. It’s a bit surreal at times. I feel like a character in a Dali painting. As if I am not of this reality.
I suppose it’s because I hear of so many who have difficulty with their significant other. I guess you can say I am
truly blessed. Thank you again.

Yes, we’re enjoying each other more and more as time passes. There were moments throughout when stress and friction
visited us but the memories far outshine them. I pray that all can have their partner be the spirit that makes their heart soar.
I’m recovery but slowly. I had no idea how sensitive the spine is. The slightest movement can be a reversal of all that had progressed.
Time is all that’s needed but it can be frustrating. It was easier to recover from having a baby. 😁
Thank you, Mary, for your Congrats … and … well wishes.
