‘Count your breaths’, the yoga teacher said, as we were at the cool down point at the end of our postures.
Simple.
Or is it?
Relaxing.
Is it possible to do ?
Many people can’t do it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the back of the room a woman shouts, “Count my breath, I’m counting the chores I’ll have to do when I get home after class”.
Silence, broken.
She hadn’t reached that place of inner peace.
Who doesn’t have commitments and a to-do list?
But, your yoga class is your time.
Savior it and take it all in.
Negate the responsibilities for just a little while.
What good are you to others if your body. mind and spirit are depleted?
Inner Peace can be achieved in as little as 5 minutes.  Give yourself permission to waste 5 minutes if that’s what you think you’re doing.
If it’s difficult for you to sit quietly and stay calm then listen to music.  Find music that calms you. It doesn’t need to be meditation music. Find music that makes you happy and listen to it.
Have you ever tried to convince an adult who has ADHD to quietly sit and meditate?
I have. It’s impossible for them. But, they enjoy music.
Everyone loves music. Find a type of music that helps you tone down. While listening, you will be able to go to those hidden corners in your heart that are dormant. You’ll awaken them.
Slowly, you will begin to feel calm and peaceful.
Quiet.
Special.
As important as the items you haven’t checked off your to do list.
Give yourself permission to nurture and find your inner peace. Afterwards, you’ll be surprised at how peaceful you feel.
Others will notice the tranquility you’re exhibiting.
How do you find your Inner Peace?
Namaste
I honor the place in you
in which the entire universe dwells.
I honor the place in you
which is of Love, and of Truth,
of Light and of Peace.
When you are in that place in you
and I am in that place in me.
We are One.
Intriguing, sensitive, mysterious, loving, artistic and crackling with excitement for life is a pretty good description of who I am. I just retired from the world of art where I sold my Artfully Designed Handmade Jewelry for 28 years; although, art will always be a part of who I am no matter what venue I choose to express it in.
  4. Issy, welcome back home! Trusting you enjoyed your respite.
    I enjoyed your NT post … great reminder. I particularly enjoyed the first piece of music … I envision piping throughout the house and chilling! AHHHH! 😀
    • Hugs to you, Becca, for the lovely warm welcome.😍 I find I’ve been singing around the house,
      in the car and even in the supermarket lately. It seems to make me smile. I’d say singing
      can be added to dancing and listening to music. Cheers to finding inner peace.
      Namaste,
      Issy 😎
