Nurture Yourself – Zen Moments

Dali Lama 5 - 10 to zen

Letting go … How can you do that?

You can let go while focusing on the positive things in your life. You can be content with yourself instead of comparing yourself to others. There may be times you lose sight of the wonderful person you are.

You look in the mirror and see flaws. You don’t like what you see.
You try to change. You compare yourself to others and try to create the person you see in them.

Negative words spoken to you while growing up carve spaces in your mind. You look at those negative messages but may not fit into them now at all yet still believe them.
They’re difficult to erase. Your negative messages build until they sculpt your emotions while creating large crevices that need filling.

Only, you can change those negative messages.
Only, you can start to look at yourself and form the portrait you really are.
You can bring it forward.

You must never give up your strength of mind to accomplish this. Perhaps, by letting go you can change yourself into the real you.

You just have to be okay with yourself.

Namaste
I honor the place in you
in which the entire universe dwells.
I honor the place in you
which is of Love, and of Truth,
of Light and of Peace.
When you are in that place in you
and I am in that place in me.
We are One

Intriguing, sensitive, mysterious, loving, artistic and crackling with excitement for life is a pretty good description of who I am. I just retired from the world of art where I sold my Artfully Designed Handmade Jewelry for 28 years; although, art will always be a part of who I am no matter what venue I choose to express it in.

  2. Those snow monkeys know something we should learn! 🙂

I’ve been trying to let go of the feeling that I’m slowly deteriorating! I’ve had a toothache for over 3 weeks. Had a root canal done last week, but the pain is still there. UGH! My Zen has flown the coop! 😐

    • Letting go and making peace with issues we have can take time. We can focus on being positive.
We can focus on trying to change. We can even fool ourselves and think it’s gone. But, back in the recesses
      of our memory is a black crevice with those thoughts. It’s in learning to say, “OK, you’re there but I’m here;
now, accept that and go back to that small space. I no longer want to be feeding you what you want.” Time …
      is the great healer.
      Namaste

  7. Excellent advice, Issy ~ particularly number 10!! It’s very easy to take ourselves too seriously and it can be hard to let go of conditioned responses, so this is an excellent reminder to keep nurturing ourselves with positivity. The monkeys are so serene, it’s relaxing to watch them! 🙂
