I’m here. Finally.
“One more item off my Bucket List”, I say to Carlotta.
~~~~~
My eyes can’t seem to absorb all of the beauty. The walls of this cathedral are covered with masterful art from top to bottom.
My heart is beating fast.
Every inch of me is shaking at the thought that I’m standing in the midst of all this creative spiritual beauty.
~~~~~~
“Children! Remember, God is everywhere but never more present than in the Sistine Chapel”, said Sister Mary Annunziciata in a raised tone.
I can hear her, clearly, as I stand here taking in the ecclesiastically magnificent imagery of all this reverent artistry.
~~~~~~
Tears begin to well in my eyes from the breathtaking splendor. I never imagined I’d step foot in this majestic cathedral.
Overwhelming chills wrap their arms around me. My head throbs from the excitement. I’ve arrived at a place I never thought I’d see.
~~~~~~
“Ignacia?”
“Ignacia, are you alright?”, I hear my friend shouting.
Loud sirens.
Fast driving.
Serene white light.

The excitement of seeing the Sistene Chapel killed her. Guess that was the last thing on her bucket list! Great story, Isadora!

It may have been her last item on her Bucket list but not by choice. 😁 Perhaps, it would have been best if she’d gone when her heart could
take the excitement of it all. A lesson for all of us … maybe?
Thank you, PJ. It’s a bit late but I haven’t been able to catch up as much as I’d like. 😳

I’m very happy that you participated in the challenge! I understand about getting behind – that happens to all of us. Yes, her heart was weak by the time she finally got to see the Chapel and at least she died happy! Wonderful story, Isadora!

I suppose just being alive is an accomplishmnet for me (past, very past, health issues that caused me to see a bright light once). I’m always grateful for each day and each day is a wonderful thing.
No, PJ, you didn’t miss anything. I’m just an optomist about being alive everyday.
Blessings to you, my dear. 🙏🏻
