They were people like you and me. They left the safety of their homes for an evening of dancing, laughter and fun. It never crossed their minds that this would be the night their lives would end.
When we leave our homes, how many of us think that we’ll never return?
I think, none of us.
Our lives have been changed by a horrific tragedy that happened in Orlando, Florida.
Fifty Forty nine people lost their lives and another fifty-three are struggling in hospitals to survive. Families transfixed on hearing news of whether ot not their family member, child or spouse are okay.
It’s a scenario that’s happening too often.
The losses of innocent people has burdened us with heavy hearts.
I hear these news reports and it paralyzes me. I can’t believe the hate. The lack of human empathy for others who are not like us.
When will this end?
How will it be stopped?
To all who are suffering from this tragedy of lives lost in Orlando:
May your troubled hearts find peace and comfort in the knowledge that you are not alone.
May God’s presence ease your trembling spirit and give you rest.
He is there to cast sunlight into all of your darkened shadows,
to send encouragement through the love of friends and family,
and to replace your weariness with new hope.
Blessings to All …

A classic from a wonderfully sensitive man. I wonder what great things would have happened in the world had he lived.
Thanks, Sylvia. Glad you enjoyed.

The truth and compassion in your words gave me goosebumps, Izzy. I’m at a loss for words with all the hatred and violence in the world (large and small). It’s so easy not to be this way. I am reading a book by Pema Chodron, a Buddhist nun. In it, she explains that any emotional “charge” has a physical effect that lasts in our body chemistry for 90 seconds. So if we get angry/sad/scared/happy/whatever, we legitimately feel it for 1 and a half minutes as a bioneurochemical fact. After that, if we are feeling, we are choosing to hang on to it. Think about that. Think about how many people make the choice to hang on to anger or fear for YEARS when they could just as easily decide not to. Amazing.

Yes, Pema Chodron is someone I’ve been reading about for some time. In fact, she recently had a lecture on-line but I missed it.
I’m going to search for it on You Tube. I wrote a Nurture post with one of her sayings recently.

I felt this tragedy in Orlando so much. I have several friends who live there. It’s a mere 21/2 hours from my home. It’s known as a fun place to visit because of Disney World and other theme parks. The minute you hit the outskirts of Orlando you see light poles with Mickey ears. It’s a place to play.
There are so many that live in angry modes, Lorna. They can’t let go or don’t want to let go of their rage or displeasure. They can’t handle the opinions of others or beliefs. People need to learn to navigate around their feelings in better ways. Who doesn’t get angry? It’s how you handle it and view it in a proper perspective that shows maturity. We need to respect other people. Thanks for the dialog, dear friend.
Have a Happy Day …!!!!

Imagine . . . if the US could do something about guns 😦

Yes, gun laws in all countries and states need to be looked at more closely for better security.
Mental health has to be addressed, as well. Many of these killers show irrational signs way before they start killing. Such a shameful tragedy despite what lifestyles these innocent people had. R.I.P. 🙏🏻

One of my favorite songs. Beautiful post, Isadora. Why can’t we all love one another and stop the hate and killing?

John Lennon was a visionary. He spoke in his songs what we all wanted to say.
I live a mere 2 1/2 hours from there. I have many friends who reside there. It’s always
been know as a fun area because of Disney World and other fun parks.
In one day, all has changed …. Amazingly tragic !!!

It is, indeed, a sad time for those who live there. I have many friends who are residents.
I live a mere 2 1/2 hours away. It’s known as the area of happiness because of Disney World
and many other fun parks. In one day, this has all changed. Amazing ….
