He’d be leaving in a few days.
He and his cousin decided to go to the local social club.
Some family and friends would be playing dominoes or dancing.
His eyes caught a glimpse of a gal in the distance.
“She’s new in town,” his cousin said,
He decided he’d ask her to dance.
Shyly, she declined.
“You’re new in town,” he said. “I’m Alfonso.”
Blushing, “I’m Rosa Amelia.”
Eventually, he had her smiling and did get one dance.
His letter arrived. She was ecstatic.
It ended, “I’m going to sing, ‘You are My Sunshine’ to you.”
“Because, you are.”

I’m gathering vignettes of my life for a memoir I’ve been thinking about for years. There’s much work to it. It reminds me of when one is moving and you begin to pack your things. There’s always a reason nt o stop and ponder before the item is boxed. Thank you for finding their story to be a happy one. They were a beautiful example of respect for the person you choose to love. Blessings 🙏🏻 Isadora

Thank you, Fatima. I do believe in love. I’m a hopeless romantic.
They were a shining example for me since they were kind, caring and gentle to each other.

Sometimes, we don’t get to say the things we should to people we love.
I know in some small ways I had touched them. They were wise to have told me so.
I hope I told them as well even if not in words but in gestures. Thank you, Gilly.
Have a great week.

Querida Rochelle,
Le mando sol 🌞 para poder sonreir.
I had to fix the photo. It was in terrible shape.
I love old photographs. People posed no matter
where they were. They were on the rooftop of a building. Gracious por sus buenas palabras.

Thanks for the assist on the spelling. I want to say it was that little critter called spellcheck but no matter. It was kind of you to have given me that teeny nudge.
She remained shy throughout their relationship. I think that’s what he found fascinating. Glad you enjoyed …

They were a very loving couple. When I saw the roses 🌹 I thought of her. Both have been gone for many many years but are still treasures we remember. Many women waited for their beaus to return from the war. Many didn’t return. She was blessed. He did. Thanks for reading aFrank. I always appreciate your comments.

Awww … a song with a tradition. It’s a happy song. My father in law loved to tease his wife. He would sing it to her in front of us. She’d blush evertime. He was a gentle man. Thanks for coming by, Sylvia. 😎

Thank you, JoHawk. He used to sing it to her in front of us when we’d visit. She get embarrassed and he’d be very funny since he had a think accent. He couldn’t say ‘Sunshine’. He’s say ‘Chunchine’. Only 100 words couldn’t add it all. LOL
