Weekly Smile – The Taxi Driver

The Taxi Driver

A passenger in a taxi leaned over to ask the driver a question.

He tapped him on the shoulder.

The driver screamed, lost control of the cab, nearly hit a bus, drove up over the curb, and stopped just inches from a large plate glass window.

For a few seconds, everything was silent in the cab.

Then, the still shaking driver said, “I’m sorry but you scared the daylights out of me.”

The frightened passenger apologized to the driver. He said, “I didn’t realize a mere tap on the shoulder could frighten you so much.”

The driver replied, “No, no, I’m sorry, it’s entirely my fault. Today is my first day driving a cab. I’ve been driving a hearse for the last 25 years.”

Intriguing, sensitive, mysterious, loving, artistic and crackling with excitement for life is a pretty good description of who I am. I just retired from the world of art where I sold my Artfully Designed Handmade Jewelry for 28 years; although, art will always be a part of who I am no matter what venue I choose to express it in.

  7. Yep, I think the poor taxi driver has a right to be frightened that first day 😉 On the other hand, the first thing that came to mind was the commercial were the guy puts “Another One Bites the Dust” on the car stereo, and is really jammign out. They then pull back to show that he is driving a hearse…
