Friday Fictioneers – Dying Love

“Let’s go to the shore,” he said.

“You’re mad, it’s snowing. Plus, we might get snowed in,” she said.

He loved spontaneity.

She didn’t.

Come on! We’ll walk the beach, shiver, then run to the warm flames of the fire left behind in the fireplace. We’ll sip champagne, eat chocolate strawberries as we warm. Besides, you aren’t able to resist my yearn for you.

                                                ~~~~~~~~~
She watched icy waves hit the shore from the balcony.
Just moments before, they’d laid close in each others’ arms, relishing the passion of their lovemaking.
The fading red roses near the flames emulated his death.
Author: Inside the Mind of Isadora
Intriguing, sensitive, mysterious, loving, artistic and crackling with excitement for life is a pretty good description of who I am. I just retired from the world of art where I sold my Artfully Designed Handmade Jewelry for 28 years; although, art will always be a part of who I am no matter what venue I choose to express it in.
  2. That sounds a good way to go, but it is so hard on the one left behind.
  6. That is a tad extreme… I’ll take the spontaneous one… and let him survive!
  8. Ouch! I’m thoroughly convinced opposites attract. Seems like that didn’t turn out so well for your characters. Well done.
    • Hi Alicia,
      It’s good to see you visiting and commenting.
      The story has two endings. I chose this one but from a different perspective. My mind was in a place that was more salacious. As in death by unabashed coupling. LOL Things happen in those moments – ya know. Either way … pleased you enjoyed. Have a wonderful weekend … Be Safe 😷
  9. Sometimes being a risk-taker can be . . . risky. What an awful tragedy though! After the romantic set up I never saw it coming.
    Murió con una sonrisa en su rostro. ¿Sí? That was a twist I wasn’t expecting. Bien escrito.
  14. That ending though! Had to go back and re-read the story again, to think about it a little bit more. Well written. I love the use of imagery and conflict to connect the different parts of the story.
    • I’m so pleased you enjoyed my story both times. There’s a bit of a hidden message in there. It’s the reason for that ending. YAY … a puzzle write. See if you can figure it out.
      Thanks for the positive comment on the imagery. Have a super Thursday … Be Safe 😷 … Isadora 😎
  15. Oh wow… I’m perplexed at the paradox of a walk in the snow, and a fall beside the fire…. 😊
  16. Oy, for the missed opportunities and … the loss … and …. oy … I’m not sure WHAT happened there, but … oy vey.
  17. Very good character study, Isadora. I understand why she is feeling guilty for not going against her nature, as it sets up a conflict between two lovers. Now that he is gone that conflict can never be reconciled. My heart goes out to her in her loss 😦
  19. She killed him over a walk in the snow? Or did the shock kill him? Either way, it was a surprise
