Walking around 42nd street in Manhattan with Amanda can be trying.
New York City is the hustle and bustle of people.
Hawkers get in your space, enticing you to buy items that may or may not be legal.
Why did Tom tell me to go out for a walk while he was at his meeting?
“Mama, look at that fun shop. There’s big glasses in the window.”
“No, Amanda, it isn’t a children’s shop.”
“What kind of a shop is it, Mama?”
“It’s an adult shop; children aren’t allowed. Let’s go to Rockefeller Center; there’s an American Girl Doll store.”

*****American Girl Doll – “The American Girl experience is more than just a collection of toys. It is a collection of magical moments filled with goodness—moments that will nourish a little girl’s spirit, send her imagination soaring, and make her dreams come true.”—Pleasant T. Rowland

Love window shopping in uptown Manhattan. I wouldn’t mind the walk at all personally. But I hope they have fun and there is nothing nefarious going on, although I suspect there may be.

I enjoy window shopping in Mahattan too. The Christmas window displays are the most festive. I’m not sure what her husband had in mind. The jury is still out on that one. Thank you for reading my story. Have a wonderful week … Stay Safe 😷 Isadora 😎

I love dolls. I have a small collection of beautifully-dressed dolls that I still enjoy, even though I’m not a child any more :). I know I would have yearned for an American Girl doll.
And you know, you sneaked that question in there to bother us the whole time :). Why, indeed, did hubby tell her to take a walk?

Smiling at your last words on your comment, Linda. Oh, those suggestions husbands make can be questionable, sometimes. Thanks for enjoying that. I had a lot of dolls as a child. I had a Shirley Temple doll with a plaid coat and beret. My mom purchased the same coat and beret for me that Christmas when she/ Santa brought her. I wish I still had her. Sadly, I do not. I’m with you, I still love dolls. Have a wonderful week … Stay Safe 😷 Isadora 😎

Hm, you so casually inserted that sentence about Tom. I bet this is a ‘special’ meeting with someone he’d rther not meet his wife and child. Great story, Isadora!

I thought about so many possibilities but we must power-pack our tale in 100 words. YUP, me think hubby had a few solo meetings he wanted to attend. I’m glad you enjoyed my take on the prompt. Have a wonderful weekend … Stay Safe 😷 Isadora 😎

Yes, Rockefeller center is much more child friendly. AND … to go to an American Girl doll shop(https://www.americangirl.com/) is a dream for every little girl. I always wanted one. I had lots of dolls but not an American Girl custom made to your style doll. Aaahhh …. yes, i loved dolls. haha
Thank you, Penny for popping by and reading my story. Have a wonderful weekend. Stay Safe 😷 Isadora 😎

About when I asked hubby to look up a doll museum in a particular town. He did… said “Here’s one, hon, its called “the doll house”. I laughed, knowing full well what “the doll house” was, but humored him as it was only a few blocks away. So, we pulled into the lot, and I said, ‘I’ll catch up, I need to get my purse out of the trunk.” He, feeling so thrilled to find a ‘girlie’ store for me, loped up the sidewalk, swung open the door and stepped inside. I, knowing what the place was, puttered at the trunk. A few seconds later, he came back looking like a panicked deer… At that point, I lost it and practically fell in the trunk laughing. He’d walked into a strip club, btw. Still gives me a chuckle.

I wonder if Tom is really at a meeting, or perhaps he decided to visit the adult shop! 😜

Perhaps, his wife happened to see him in the shop and decided it would be best to continue to a more kid friendly location and try to manage her angry discontent. Mmmm … I think I like that direction. Thanks, Iain. Glad to see you here again. Hope all is well. Have a wonderful weekend … Stay Safe 😷 Isadora 😎
