Sunday Song – The Interview with God

People may not remember what you said,

but they will remember how you made them feel ….!!!

What happens in heaven?

Will I sit on a cloud?

Is walking or talking

Or jumping allowed?

Will I be on my own?

Or with some of my friends?

Does it go on forever?

Or eventually, end?

What happens in heaven?

Will I play a harp’s strings?

I can’t play piano

I can’t even sing.

Who chooses the music?

That angels inspire?

Who does the auditions?

For the heavenly choir?

What happens in heaven?

Are the streets paved with gold?

Is it crowded with people?

Who’s incredibly old?

Will I know who I am?

Will I know what I’m called?

If I pinch myself hard

Will I feel it at all?

What happens in heaven?

Do I go through a gate?

What if I get myself lost

Or turn up too late?

Is my name on a list?

Is the gatekeeper nice?

Can you sneak in for nothing?

Or is there a price?

Intriguing, sensitive, mysterious, loving, artistic and crackling with excitement for life is a pretty good description of who I am. I just retired from the world of art where I sold my Artfully Designed Handmade Jewelry for 28 years; although, art will always be a part of who I am no matter what venue I choose to express it in.

  3. There’s a price but It has already been paid. This is a cute list of questions common to us all. I like it.

  4. That first saying is so true!! Beautiful photo, Izzy. The poem reminds me of one of Mercy Me’s latest songs: I Can Only Imagine.”

      • They have lots of good songs. There’s a movie by the same name about their lead singer and it’s wonderful!

        • I have not seen the movie.
and just to share a tiny bit more of my view on that song –
I feel like sometimes Christian songs have a “God-appointed” way of making there way into mainstream or secular music circles – and I can only imagine was one of them.
I still hear it play once in a while at a store –
but for about five years there it seemed like a few non-christian radio stations played that song a lot – and I always paused to wonder about that and how God made it happen – I think he has a cool way of doing that – having certain songs “erupt” at certain times or certain Christians share their stories at different times.
Like recently we have seen Frank Reich – coach of the Colts – and every time I see him I remember when we was a player in the 1990s and had a record ending game comeback when he filled in for Jin Kelly.
Frank shared after the game that the song he heard that morning was “In Christ Alone” and he shared a tiny bit of his faith and how that song filled him before the game. well later we had. few folks tell us that what Frank said had touched them deeply (they were I guess what you would call seekers)
anyhow, every time I see Frank (saw him a few times because they actually played the bills a few weeks ago – the team Frank had the comeback with in the 1990s – and the Colts “gave the bills a bashing in buffalo” in 2021 and they showed Frank Reich and I thought about that time he shared the song that fueled him and grounded him for what some would ay was the biggest game of his life.

    • I love this song, Janet. I’m not familiar with the group but will visit them on YouTube.
His voice is powerful. Thank you for sharing it here. I hope others enjoy it too.
I went to see the sunset at the beach during the summer. This was the glorious sunset we
had that night. The intensity was mesmerizing.
I came across this poem and absolutely loved it. There wasn’t an author listed.
I read it and thought, ” I wonder how many people have these same questions. I have watched
the Interview with God video many, many times and pondered about it so when I read the poem
I had to add them to a post. I’m happy you enjoyed the post enough to add your video.
I’m off to YouTube … have a wonderful weekend.
      Izzy 😎
