Here Kitty, Kitty! Here Kitty!
Mom, she doesn’t like me.
Now, don’t say that, Kimmy. She’s probably scared.
But, if she won’t come to me, how can I play with her?
When she’s ready, she’ll come out and play.
I think she wants to eat your books, Mom. Carly says her cat Puffy eats her Mom’s magazines. When kids do that, they get in trouble. Will kitty get punished if she eats your book?
Why don’t we wait for Kitty to do that and, then, decide?
Okay, but if Kitty doesn’t play with me soon, can I get another one?

LOL I have two cats that love to eat and destroy anything paper. They may be dogs in disguise. Thanks for commenting.

Them damned book-eating cats. The adoption agency should do a better job when pairing up kitties with humans. A simple, “Do you own a lot of books or magazines?” could spare a household a lot of literary damage.
Nicely done.

LOL … I have two Siamese that take great pleasure in chewing anything paper. Mmmmm … PICA or weird cats? AND … adopted from a no-kill shelter with a lot of questions for me. They were thorough but never asked about books. 😎

To cats, everything is food. I had a cat that loved eating string, rubberbands and cotton swabs.

Maybe a pack of cat treats will lure the kitten – though it is important that children learn early on that cats rule 🙂

Cats are always the boss. Kitty will decide who she plays with and when. This story rings true.

I think all pets need to adjust to children slowly. Kimmy needs to learn that. She will eventually. It may ring true because I have two cats that react cautiously when they see children. I’m sure dogs are the same way. This was a fun photo for the challenge this week. Thank you for reading and commenting, Margaret.

I think a dog would be much more playful. But, Kimmy may be a little too young for pets.

Cats do like to be in control, and won’t play ball if forced. It takes a while for children to learn this nature of cats and usually they get bored first–as your story implies.

I think dogs are better with younger children. They enjoy rolling around on the floor.
Cats are a bit skeptical and cautious. But, Kimmy will learn to be patient and understand
the Kitty’s ways. I’m glad you enjoyed my story, James. Thanks for commenting.

1. Cat will not come.
2. Open can of tuna.
3. Well trained obedient cat arrives in two seconds. Cute story. Well done.

A most believable conversation. I wonder, though, if Kimmy has mistreated Kitty, who has learned to stay out of reach.

Yes, that’s a possibility. Children don’t realize they can hurt a small kitten unintentionally. We have two cats that are very cautious around children. Perhaps, Kimmy will learn to have more patience with the kitty, eventually. Thank you, Linda, for reading and commenting. Hope you’re doing well health wise. Have a blessed weekend … Isadora 😎

Querida Rochelle,
Pets can teach kids how to care for something that depends on them. I think they’ll warm up to each other eventually. As with all relationship, they’re in the – getting-to-know-each-other phase. Glad you enjoyed, mi amiga … Abrazos y Carino,

Cats and dogs both have different lessons to teach to children. Some are more painful than others, but on the whole, I think only good can come from the association.

HA HA Kids ya’ gotta luv ’em. I remember all of the constant questions when they were learning something new. In this case, it’s how to play nicely with a cat named Kitty. I think the cat is doing a pretty good job of hiding in plain site. LOL
