Serenity – A Walk through Life

Tree Path.web A Walk through Life ©IsadoraDeLaVega

Spend your brief moment according to nature’s law,

and serenely greet the journey’s end as an olive falls when it is ripe,

blessing the branch that bares it and giving thanks to the tree that gave it life.

Letting Go

How can we do that?

We can let go.

We do it by focusing on the positive things in our lives. We need to stop comparing ourselves to others. There are times we lose sight of the wonderful person we are.

We look in the mirror and see flaws. We don’t like what we see.

We try to change ourselves into the people we’re comparing ourselves to and try to create that person we see in them.

The negative messages we were told while growing up create hollow spaces in our minds. They carve until they sculpt our emotions. If we look at those negative messages, now, we might not fit into them; yet, still believe them. They’re difficult to erase. They need to be filled in with positive affirmations about ourselves.

Only, we can change those negative messages.

Only, we can start to look at ourselves in order to form the persona we really are.

We can create and develop more of a positive mind.

We can strengthen our positive minds for a better way of being by letting go of those negative thoughts. We need to become real with ourselves by accepting the entire person we are despite what others may think.

We just have to be okay with ourselves.

Nurture Yourself – Unplug

Almost everything will work again, if you Unplug for a few minutes, including You!

~~~~~~~~~
This post is about taking time to Unplug from the daily pressure of trying to keep up with social media. We fool ourselves into thinking that we have a grip on how much time we spend on our computers or smart phones but we do not. Our concerns for missing something that we believe is important for us to know prevents us from seeing the addiction. Communication has broken down between people.
For example:
I was having dinner at a restaurant before a play my husband was taking me to see for my birthday in July. It’s a lovely Japanese Restaurant with delicious food, sushi and furnished with traditional japanese paintings and decor.
A family of four came in and were seated at the next table beside ours. Shortly after getting their menu’s and ordering, they all grabbed their phones and focused on the screens before them. Sadly, they did that the entire time they were eating. No conversation occurred during the entire hour they sat at the table. After the father paid for the check, they got up and left.
Are we unable to leave media behind during a short one hour of eating?
Technology has given us many benefits. We can skype family in other states. We can talk and see members of our family during times when traveling isn’t possible. Being able to research subjects or learn on-line is a phenomenal tool; but, somethings been lost. We need to find it soon. Our children are missing many things they could experience from their parents or extended families. They’re lost by a mesmerizing screen that is constantly calling them.
Will this one day be an addiction like drugs and alcohol?
I hope not. Perhaps, finding a middle road for all to be happy can be a topic of conversation: at dinner?
Namaste,
Isadora 🙏🏻
Smile – After all – tomorrow is another day
After all, tomorrow is another day
When you feel so weak
And things look bleak
Tomorrow is another day
When you’re so blue
And don’t know what to do
Tomorrow is another day
When things go wrong
And you don’t feel strong
Tomorrow is another day
When your body says, “No”
But you don’t want to let go
Tomorrow is another day
When the sun starts to set
And fear the day is gone, be strong,
After all, tomorrow is another day
Sunday Song – I Hurt Too
Poetry is a life-cherishing force.
For poems, are not words after all,
but fires for the cold,
ropes let down to the lost,
something as necessary
as bread in the pockets of the hungry.”
Nurture Yourself – Be Who You Are
On occasion, we all experience something that sets us back in our emotional health. Life hands us challenges we need to meet. We’re not always able to accept challenges that make us feel excluded. But, we can give ourselves permission to be ‘Who We Are’ despite the behavior of those who decide we aren’t acceptable in their world.
                       Often, we have preconceived notions of who we should be based on our need to fit in. It may start early in our lives because we want to be liked or want to be part of the so-called in crowd. We imagine ourselves to be like others if we dress, talk and act like them. We behave and do things we normally wouldn’t do because we don’t like the feeling of being excluded.
                                      Don’t pretend. Be who you are. You are special …
                     It isn’t selfish to make yourself a priority. It isn’t selfish to take care of yourself. It isn’t selfish to love yourself. For in doing so, you have much more to give to others. More importantly, you’ve given yourself a far greater gift of love than anyone could ever give you.
        Give Yourself Special love Gifts everyday …
  1. Wake in the morning and say – “Today, I love myself more than yesterday”.
  2. Dream more while you’re awake – manifesting positive dreams creates positive energy.
  3. Smile – challenge yourself to make 3 people a day smile.
  4. Place all past issues where they belong; in the past. Don’t ruin today because of them.
  5. Time heals all things, eventually. Give time – time.
  6. Don’t compare yourself to others. Their lives may not be so special.
  7. Spend time with people over 70 – they’ve experienced far more than you and can guide you.
  8. Spend more time with children under 6 – they know how to play and you’ve forgotten.
  9. No matter how you feel – get up, get dressed and be a part of the adventures of life.
  10. Live with EnergyEnthusiasm EmpathyFaith – Self-Love
                               Be the ship that travels calm waters to places that nourish you. Cruise away from places that keep you from being who you are. Bring people along with you who let you be you. Discard the others since they will only bring your ship down.
I’m not the mistakes that I have made
or any of the things that caused me pain
I am not the pieces of the dream I left behind
I am not the color of my eyes
I am not the skin on the outside
I am not my age, I am not my race,
The 3 Day Quote Challenge
Sometimes in the waves of change
We find our true direction ©annonymous
In this challenge, we’re told to write a quote and explain why we like it.
I like gaining insight in words. In these two lines, there is a great deal to learn.
We hesitate changing where we are even if we’re unhappy. We’re comfortable.
Change means adjusting to something new.
I love sitting at the beach and watching the waves hit the shore.
Each one is different. They never seem to mind that they are going to change the next time they
come to shore. If we can accept the changes in our lives, we just might find a better place to be.
Nurture Yourself – Visually Focus
We need to empty our mind and visualize ourselves as being completely barren of all thoughts.
Our old insecurities, judgments and beliefs won’t want to leave. They’re comfortable. But, they’re the thoughts that keep repeating all the negative things we were told while growing up or have experienced now which are holding us back.
Let your negative thoughts float away like feathers. They’ve been taking up important real estate. Your high priced district has been constantly going down. These negative thoughts haven’t helped you so far. They never will. They’re meaningless feelings doing all they can to make you feel burdened and worthless.
Gather new down soft feathers. They’re fluffy and white. They have the new, real you, in them. The happy, positive, creative person you could be; if those negative thoughts weren’t there. If they weren’t there dragging you down with their heavy demands, you’d have the energy to succeed in whatever you choose to do.
Begin to visualize that you’re extraordinarily special, unique and remarkable. Only then, will you be able to feel the peaceful tranquility in you.
Namaste,
Isadora
