Friday Fictioneers – Forever All Alone

Darkness covers me like a blanket

Shadows surround my thoughts

My arms wrap tightly around me

Deserted, no one home

You keep me isolated

My only friend, just you

Smiles ne’er intrude our space

With you, I’m safe and whole

The thorns of my emotions

Keep rising from deep inside

Always in your shadows

Always in your arms

I cannot see the rose

Only thorns of pain

Madness all around me

It keeps me huddled tight

Tomorrow won’t be different

It will always be the same

Fear keeps me shaking

My spirit is tattered, worn

Darkness gives me comfort

Forever, all alone

*****A similar photo by Ted Strutz was posted on Friday Fictioneers back in 2017. I wrote this poem for that image. I didn’t get many views or comments. I thought  I’d edit it a bit and add it to this photograph by Dale Rogerson. Sorry about the two extra words.

Enjoy … Happy Easter Everyone 🌸 😍 🐣 🐰 🌸

Wilted Dreams

Wilted Flower 2021©Isadora DeLaVega

Your waking dreams
I hear your screams
of the hour
My wilted flower

All alone
can’t go home
You must cower
My wilted flower

So much pain
standing in the rain
You are not of power
My wilted flower

You run away
and, there you stay
In the cold rain shower
My wilted flower

Memories of all the hate
your horrible fate
They no longer tower
My wilted flower

In peace you die
I mustn’t cry
Your last hour
My wilted flower

Friday Fictioneers – Alone

Through hazy eyes, I glanced around the room.

A beeping sound echoed in my ears. It had a mesmerizing tone.

The yellow glow of light reflected on the walls as the sun rose.

I felt numb.

My mind couldn’t recall what had happened to me.

There was no one in the room. I was alone.

A frightening chill crept through my blood.

Daunting thoughts raced through my mind.

There were bruises all over my body.

 I ached.

My chest swelled with emotions.

Tears flowed as panic took hold of me.

How did I get here?

And, why was I alone?

Friday Fictioneers – Dying Love Aftermath

In February, we had another photo prompt from Dale Rogerson. Since this week we’re having an encore of another of her wonderful photos, I thought I would continue my first Flash Fiction story called Dying Love. If you missed reading it click on the title; although, the stories are independant of each other. Thanks for popping by … Isadora

She sat on the chaise lounge, watching the droplets of rain slide down the window.

Her eyes were swollen and red from the tears she’d shed for hours. Time didn’t exist.

A blank space permeated where there used to be laughter between him and her.

Now, he was gone.

Why?

The police were kind but seemed suspicious. The paramour is always suspect.

Yes, they were opposites in many ways, but he was gentle, kind, and conscientious of her likes.

No, he was a keeper. She’d begun to fall in love.

Will she ever be happy again or die pining away?

Friday Fictioneers – The Cellar

It had become a struggle to get up during the pandemic.

Working from home was unconstrained; isolation was suffocating.

Lack of human contact was wearing her down.

After weeks of online conversations, she accepted an invitation to meet Marco at The Cellar.

It’s crowded; music’s loud.

Look for the guy wearing a red shirt.

Strobe lights glanced across his face when I spotted him.

He was tipsy, not a great first impression, but handsome.

Her instincts quickly kicked in when he touched her thigh.

As planned, her lifeline phone call rings.

Amanda?

I’ll be right there.

Sorry, emergency, gotta go.

Nobody Walks Alone

Oft’  times when the highway of life seems rough

And all of your dreams have flown,

Just remember, wherever your road may go,

 Nobody Walks Alone

When everyone else has let you down

And under your sins you groan,

Just keep reminding, your burdened heart,

 Nobody Walks Alone

Then suddenly you’ll feel His hand in yours,

And His eyes lifting up your own,

And you’ll hear his gentle, forgiving voice:

 Nobody Walks Alone … !!!

“Ama” is a silent film.

It tells a story everyone can interpret in their own way,

based on their own experience.

There is no imposition, only suggestions.

I wanted to share my biggest pain in this life with this film.

For this is not too crude, I covered it with grace.

To make it not too heavy, I plunged it into the water.

I dedicate this film to all the women of the world.”
