A Quiet Respite

sunset-sailwebBlog Friends  ….

It is time for me to take a brief respite. I will be out on the high seas gathering energy from the wind and salty air. I’ll be listening to the music of the waves.

I wanted to leave you with a peaceful image of the ocean. I think in one of my previous lives I must have been a sailor. I love being out on the water.

Perhaps, it’s because of my astrology sign. I’m a cancer which is a water sign and is represented by the crab. I’m renewed while receiving abundant energy from the ocean.

I’ll be without technology of any kind. I’ll be writing, reading and contemplating on expanding my knowledge of how to create a more peaceful journey for my life.

Your posts brighten my day. I look forward to them. I believe you’re exceptional bodies of work will be the greatest loss while I’m away. Many, many of you are very talented and post the most incredibly meaningful stories and photographs I delight in seeing and reading.

Please feel free to make me aware of your extraordinary posts so I can read them.

In my absence, if you’d like to catch up on my stories or poetry feel free to visit and enjoy. If you leave your insightful and thoughtful comments, I can assure you I will get to each and every one of them.

I leave you with the most precious gift … LOVE  😍

Isadora 😎

Friday Fictioneers – Job Hunting

From their bench, Vincenzo and Guiseppe take in the activities of everyday life.

“Vincenzo, I gotta get a job.”

“Why? We can show tourists around like we always do.”

“For tips and grins? Mama’s gonna kill me if I don’t get a job,”

“Get out of this funk, Guiseppe, you’re starting to bore me.”

“Mama gave me 6 bucks for lunch. She told me, I better have a job when I go home today.”

“Hey, I got 4 bucks. Let’s go get a bottle of Chianti.”

“I guess I can look tomorrow.”

“Let’s go, Guisep, before you change your mind.”

Friday Fictioneers – Old but Hot to Trot

Mom says she wants to travel. She’s thinking Europe; alone and at 75.

Where did she meet this friend, Jean, she plans to travel with all of a sudden?

My sister and I decide we should allow her this last frivolous adventure.

Safety Harbor Nursing Home can wait until she returns.

While she’s vacationing, we can put the house up for sale and gather what each of us wants from the many collectibles. Then, we’ll have our own European vacation.

In her mailbox arrives a postcard for us.

“Marrying Gene in Paris!” “He’s 65 and hot to trot”. “Tomber amoureux!”

Friday Fictioneers – A Small Stone

He stood at the door of 28909 Rue de Jardin. Memories flooded his mind. He’d never imagined seeing this house again.

Why had his father left it to him?

They hadn’t spoken in forty years. He was ten. His mother had divorced him immediately after she discovered his affair. Her broken heart finally erased by her suicide.

Sitting with Clarice, the now 90 year old mistress, in the large windowed parlor he remembered the park view from his bedroom. The wounds still felt razor deep.

He placed a stone on the gravestone; softly murmuring, “Ikh bin dir mühl. Hasholem Aaron Steinman”.

*****I forgive you in Yiddish – ikh bin dir mühl

*****Rest in Peace in Yiddish – hasholem

***** Within the Jewish faith, it is customary to leave a small stone on a grave. Placing the stone on a grave serves as a sign to others that someone has visited the grave. It also enables visitors to partake in the mitzvah tradition commemorating the burial of the deceased. Stones are a fitting symbol of the lasting presence of the departed life. info©shiva.com

Joke – Laugh It’s Friday

New United Airlines Mottos:

“Drag and Drop”

“We put the hospital in hospitality”

“Board as a doctor, leave as a patient”

“Our prices can’t be beaten, but our passengers can”

“We have First Class, Business Class and No Class”

“Not enough seating, prepare for a beating”

“We treat you like we treat your luggage”

“We beat the customer. Not the competition”

“And you thought leg room was an issue”

“Where voluntary is mandatory”

“Fight or flight. We decide”

“Now offering one free carry off”

“Beating random customers since 2017”

“If our staff needs a seat, we’ll drag you out by your feet”

“A bloody good airline”

~~~~~
A friend sent me this joke. I thought I’d post it so you could start your weekend with a smile.
Friday Fictioneers – Changing Marina
As soon as we approached the marina in St. Thomas, I could see his face turning red.
“Do you see this Laura Lee?”
“Yes, I do Max.”
“Things are changing. I used to love this little marina. Now, it’s always under construction and overcrowded with boats in every little space. It won’t be long before we won’t have a dock for our sailboat. I can recall when we’d be the eye candy for all who loved a good looking sailboat. Now, we can barely navigate around these obstacles.”
“Max, lookout. There’s a cruise ship coming; starboard side.”
Sunset at Venice Beach in Florida
My daughter and grandson escaped to Florida for a little rest and relaxation.
Searching for sharks teeth, swimming and enjoying the beautiful sunset.
