Inside the Mind of Isadora

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

A tree grows in concrete

As such, a sight to see

I hadn’t given much thought

To how lonely it might be

One tree, weatherworn, twiggy bark

Hardly standing, day in and day out

Alone, trying to be burly strong

In need of care, no one did

City life, concrete at its’ feet

Rain, sleet and snow

No breaks, nothing but woe

Yet, there it stands for all to see

The 3 Day Quote Challenge – Day 2

You are like a flower,

the stem resembles your strength,

and, the petals how delicate your are. ©annonymous

In this challenge, we’re told to write a quote and explain why we like it.

I like this quote because I like observing nature.  We can learn many things that could help guide us through our journey of life.

Nature never hurries through its seasons. Everything unfolds, becoming larger slowly.

The mighty oak has a strong bark yet its leaves delicately flutter in the wind. Something strong, showcasing something delicate.

A plant has a strong stem in order to produce its delicate flower.  Slowly as each petal unfolds it showcases its beauty but always maintains strength in its stem.

I like to think we’re like flowers. In times of turmoil, we stand strong in order to manage the chaos until its over. Yet, our outer persona is delicate, when we want to shine our colors.

Silence – A Walk through Life

Tree Path.web A Walk through Life ©Isadora DeLaVega

Spend your brief moment according to nature’s law,

and serenely greet the journey’s end as an olive falls when it is ripe,

blessing the branch that bare it and giving thanks to the tree that gave it life.
