A Gift of Love

This is a repost from February of 2015. I believe it’s a post that’s needed at this time.

Bombarded with stresses from Hurricane Irma here in Florida,

the following week paralyzed us with Hurricane Maria which pummeled the island of Puerto Rico.

I have family there. The island has no power or phone service.

The roads have been washed away or have electric poles block their exiting.

To say I’ve been stressed is an understatement.

I’ll be back on a regular basis soon.

Love those you hold dear to your Heart.

Namaste 🙏🏻

The way to love anything deeply is to realize that it may be lost to you one day.

A Gift of Love

Without you,

Life is just existing,

With you,

Life is worth living

You put a name on the

Songs birds sing,

And you bring the smell of flowers

To a breezy spring

You are my sun,

You are my moon

Please get well

And come home soon.

❤❤❤❤❤

February is the month in which we celebrate LOVE.

I am a hopeless romantic as is my husband.

He wrote this poem for me when I was in the hospital two years ago.

chris barber , feat.monty sunshine , petite fleur

Heart - piano notes

My husband plays several instruments; clarinet, trumpet and cornet.

We met in band class when we were both playing clarinet.

He still plays for fun and for me. Dixieland jazz is his favorite genre.

Chris Barber is one musician he enjoys listening to and play along with.

This seemed like the perfect way to add LOVE to this week.

Nurture Yourself – Serenity in Nature

The hazy, lazy days of summer took hold of me and I did not resist. But, I’m back. I hope to add some of the special events I attended along with my birthday cruise experiences soon. I’m rejuvenated and ready to post some of the exciting things I did while absent from my blog. My last entry was a Nurture Yourself  post. Click on the words if you missed it. I thought I’d begin my posts again with Nurture Yourself even if it’s a repost from last September. It’s a way of getting myself back into the writing mood.

Thank you to those bloggers who continued to pop over to see what I was up to.  Isadora 🙏🏻

Namaste
I honor the place in you
in which the entire universe dwells.
I honor the place in you
which is of Love, and of Truth,
of Light and of Peace.
When you are in that place in you
and I am in that place in me.
We are One.

Grateful in My Own Design

heart-2-psycodelic-colors

Give thanks for the road,
that is sunny and clear.
Filled with blessings,
like friends and family who are dear.

Give thanks for the blue skies,
and fields filled with flowers.
Fragrance and colors,
to last hours and hours.

Give thanks for a cloudy day,
sprinkling a mist on your face.
It’s a way to enjoy miracles,
from Heaven’s embrace.

Give thanks for the cooler time,
when life may not seem so sublime.
But, denotes the seasons changes
in the varieties of our lifetime.

Give thanks for the joy and pleasure,
you feel deep inside your soul.
Their sent down from Heaven,
to set your heart free.

Trees – Trees

Lake with tree reflections -2 signedTrees, trees

Home of the bees,

Home of the seeds,

the buds,
and the leaves…

Home of a bird,
a chipmunk,
a bat…

Trees make their own food,
but never get fat!!!

They live quite a while,

like a very long time,

Get older than Grandpa,

And Grandma combined!

For tens,
and hundreds,

and thousands of years,

they give shade to our picnics,

and food to our deer’s…

And all trees make flowers,

and all trees make fruits,

and all trees have trunks,

and all trees have roots…

From bananas

To chestnuts,

To apples,

To plums,

Trees give us good food,

They’re really our chums!

We use sap to make syrup,

and rubber, and fuel,

we use wood to make chairs,

to sit down at school…

But without all your help,

And without your concern,

We won’t have enough trees,

And for trees we will yearn,

Because trees give us things,

That we need to survive,

Like O2 (or oxygen) to breathe,

To live and to thrive…

And trees don’t take much,

for all that they give,

They only need sunlight,

And water to live…

Well maybe some soil,

To hold themselves up,

And maybe some love,

So they don’t get cut up…

Cut down or cut up,

however you view it,

we all need green trees,

so save one,
just do it!!!

Sunday Song – I Hurt Too

art-angel-ps-man-on-lap-web

Poetry is a life-cherishing force.
For poems are not words, after all,
but fires for the cold,
ropes let down to the lost,
something as necessary
as bread in the pockets of the hungry.”
